Navaratri Raita Recipe


Navaratri is the time to eat variety of  healthy foods . The ideal fasting diet should contain  a balance of protein fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Learn how to prepare healthy Raita for this Navaratri fasting.

Ingredients for Navaratri Raita

Potato – 1 [boiled, peeled and chopped]
Sweet potato – 1 [boiled, peeled and chopped]
Cucumber – 1 [peel and chopped]
Water chestnuts – 4 [peeled and chopped]
Curd – 1 ½ cups
Green chillies – 1 [chopped]
Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp [chopped]
Roasted peanuts – 1 tbsp [chopped]
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp [roasted and powdered]
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Senda namak [rock salt] to taste
Sugar to taste
Oil – 1 tsp

Method of the Preparation of Navaratri Raita

Beat the curd well.
Add roasted cumin seeds powder, chopped green chillies, sugar and salt and mix well.
Add all chopped vegetables and mix gentely.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and allow spluttering, then add to Raita.
Navaratri Rita is ready. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
