Bitter gourd [Karela] with Onion Diabetic Recipe



Ingredients for Bitter gourd with Onion

Bitter gourd – 3 [cut into small pieces]
Onion – 3 [chopped]
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 tbsp

Method of Preparing Bitter gourd with Onion

Heat oil in pan and add chopped onion and fry for 5 minutes. Add turmeric powder, chili powder and mix. Add bitter gourd pieces and salt to taste. Mix well and cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10—15 minutes on medium flame. Stir in between.
Remove the cover and fry the bitter gourd low flame for 5 minutes. Serve with curd rice or chapatti
