Kanji Ke Vade Holi Recipe


 Holi is a spring festival, it brings lots of colors with happiness In this Holi season every Indian women  were busy in their kitchen to make deliciouis sweets and scrumptious Pakodas and vadas.  Kanji ke Vade made of urad dal, this is a special vada for Holi,If you also relish on vadas , bhallas and pakodas you just try the Kanji Ke vade. It is very easy to make.

Ingredients of Kanji Ke Vade

Urad dal – ½ kg
Rai – 1 tsp [grounded]
Red chilies – 2 [pounded]
 Pieces of afoetida [hing] – 2
Salt to taste
Water—3 cups
Dry red chilies –3

Method of Preparing Kanji Ke Vade

Soak Urad dal 3—4 hours. Grind to make fine paste.  Heat oil in a pan, wet your palms and put little portion of mixture on to your wet palm and flatten it. Let it slide one by one on to the hot oil.
Deep fry the vadas till golden brown. Put a griddle on the flame and put few hing pieces on it. Take an earthen pot and turn it upside down on the griddle, so the hing starts emitting an aroma.
 Take it off the fire and  fill it with warm water. Mix the red chili powder, rai, red chillies and salt and add to the water.
Put the vadas into the pot and cover with a muslin cloth and tie it. Keep this vada pot in the sun, during the day time for 7-8 days.
